Curriculum
Curriculum Update for the Week of November 2nd:
Reading/Language Arts:
Students will complete Lesson 10 (Theme Review) in Storytown.
Student edition story is the Readers’ Theater Documentary called A Trip to the Fire Station.
Fiction story is George and Martha Back in Town.
Students will review the focus skills predicting and plot.
Theme Test II will be given on Thursday and Friday.
Math:
Students will complete Unit 2, “Shapes, Blocks, and Symmetry.”
Investigation #3. Math Focus Points include:
* Describing and identifying objects and designs that have mirror symmetry.
* Identifying lines of symmetry.
* Determing what makes a design symmetrical.
* Exploring symmetry by folding and cutting paper patterns.
Science:
Students will complete the Insect Unit. Unit Test will be given on Friday, November 6th.
Social Studies:
Students will continue Unit 2: “The Government.”
